Either today or tomorrow will be my last post until I get Internet connection out in CA.

I still have a lot to do. I’m making one last shopping trip for a good laptop case that isn’t heavy and bulky and a couple minor things. Then tomorrow will be a trip out to get food for the train before I leave for DC. Today will be the previously mentioned shopping trip, packing, getting my room cleared, finishing my end of the swap (I’ll try to mail tomorrow, no I will send tomorrow dang it!)

Andy bought me an Mp3 player for the trip ^^ I’m actually really worried about him. He’s almost always hanging out with me and I broke him of his video game addiction… he’s been really depressed. I feel bad about it since it’s because of me. But he wants me to go and be happy. Unlike most of the people here who’ve been trying to convince me to stay. I know he doesn’t want me to go but he’s doing everything in his power to make sure I get out there. I’ll miss him. He’s the first good friend I’ve made in a long time… since middle school,  like 8 years ago or so.

But I’m really looking forward to getting back in my baby’s arms. We have a ride again! ^-^

I’m going back to knitting. I’ll either post tomorrow, but if not I’ll be back sometime Sunday or later.

I’m nearly done with my swap projects thank goodness. If I work late I can mail them out tomorrow. That would be freakin awesome. I still have to pack up everything. I have 3 suitcases to pack everything I’m bringing with me 2 carry ons and a purse and a laptop case to pack everything that I own. Everything that doesn’t fit is either being sent or donated. Most of which will be donated. The things to send are really just books and I’m keeping them with Andy until I have a job and can pay to ship them. The sewing machine is still an issue. I’m thinking that I’m going to put it in my little suitcase carry on. It’s on the train so no one will care and it’ll be left alone and buffered against a lot of soft things. Don’t know though, I’ll test if I can handle it later today.

I’m really feeling stressed about this upcoming move. Don’t get me wrong I’m really freakin excited about it, it’s all I’ve been looking forward to since I decided to move to Quincy, but damn if it’s not getting to be troublesome. First off my depression has been acting up and god knows there is no reason for it too, I’m so happy about finally getting to CA. Sorry if that’s confusing… I’m extremely happy and excited, but I keep getting sad for no reason what so ever. Then there’s other things. I don’t have a ride to Quincy once I get to Reno. Three different rides have ditched. The first went to Europe, the second got dates confused and won’t be around, the third may be having his liscence revoked. >.< It’s troublesome. Then there’s the feeling of not having enough time. I still have work to do, and it’s not getting done as fast as I have hoped. The Internet being shut off was another downer. The fact that I don’t feel I’m knitting fast enough for the swap is irritating as well. In fact I’m going to work on that once I get off here. I still need to figure out what I’m doing with my sewing machine. I’m just really frusterated. Oh and I’m on a guilt trip for not going to visit my family this summer but I had so much to do and I still do. The work won’t end when I get to Quincy. Plus I really want my familly to meet Matthew. Unless they come back to the states, I don’t know how I’m going to arrange that. I’m going to go knit now and try to relax. Then I’m off to Andy’s to continue work on his room.

Today was another day in the commons. Jeez I was such an idiot. I was sitting there knitting and listening to some music with my headphones on. The sound was were it normally is but it was super quiet I could barely hear it so I had to turn in up all the way to hear it well (I’m sure you know where this is going). There were a crap load of people around for a while but everyone left and then Brain came over to say hi. So I pull off the headphones and stop the music. We talk and when he left I put them back in and turned the music back on. Still wondering why the hell I’m having to have it up so loud I look down at the jack. It’s in the bloody microphone port next to the headphone port. So I change it over quickly and turn red as hell. I must’ve looked so retarded listening to music from my laptops speakers but still wearing headphones. So that was a good hour or so of my morning.

Oh, then I had to put the knitting down when I heard Sara Evan’s Saints and Angels. I’m obessing over that song. I NEED to choreograph it! I miss dancing so much. I wish it didn’t hurt so badly to try to. I felt so betrayed by my body when I discovered it couldn’t handle it anymore. My knees bend inward so when my feet are out in first postion my knees bend straight forward and I can not physically force them over my toes unless I really want to hurt myself, then I have a bad disk in my back. It took all my will power to not get up and start dancing in the middles of the commons. I really miss it. I’ll never be able to do ballet again not well and not professionally like I dreamed of doing. I’m hoping to be able to get back into jazz. The only good thing that came out of my not being able to dance was that I went back to my crafts. I crafted all the time when I was a child, but I lost touch of that side of me when I became a gymnast and a dancer and a martial artist. Just didn’t make time for it anymore. I miss the physical activities, but I’m happy I rediscovered a part of me that was lost. I do hope that soon I can dance and do gymnastics again. I’m getting back to martial arts very soon so I’m not worried about that one. Until then I’ll keep hoping and resisting the urge to just dance my heart out and land myself at the doctors in the process.

My Kiri under went surgery today and thanks to the shop owner at Lettuce Knit she’s all fixed. I still don’t like the pattern. I don’t think I’ll be doing it again. Still loving KSH though. The yarn is so soft and lovely.

Anyways, I spend most of the day working on the stuffs from my swap partner. She’s sent already and I’m still working so I feel a bit guilty, but I’ll be done soon.

After Andy got off work we went to Lettuce Knit again and picked up some Rowan KSH, they actually had the same dye lot which was lucky since I’ve only been to this store 2 or 3 times before and buy most of my stuff at Got Yarn. Anyway the shop owner is a lovely lady she offered to let me bring in my shawl and she’d fix it, but I’d feel guilty about it so I don’t know if I’ll actually do that or not, but I’m definitly visiting again before I leave. She even gave me a free tote bag! Pulled it right off the display and handed it to me after taking off the price tag! It was so nice. I really like that store a lot the lighting is wonderful and it’s really welcoming. Got Yarn is dark and it seems less welcoming, the ladies there are nice, I just don’t feel as comfortable there as I do at Lettuce.

After leaving the LYS Andy and I went Goodwill in search of some more suitcases, but there were none. So instead I bought two tops to unravel for yarn.

First off for comparison here’s a picture of me in normal fitting clothing. Granting I’m in the worst shape of my life, but that’ll be fixed when I start working out again like I used to before the disk in my back went bad and my knees blew out:

So then the first top I bought is 100% cotton in a lovely yellow, these pictures don’t show the color very well though. As you can see it instant adds such wonderful err curves?

Then the next one is 85% silk, and 15% cashmere it’s wonderful. The yarn will be used for a shawl or wrap of some sort. It’s a twin set here it is with the jacket:

Then we went to Target to get luggage. I got a decent 5 piece set for around 80 bucks. So hopefully this one will last longer than the ones my parents have been getting me. They haven’t lasted a year and I got easy on my luggage! >.<

I haven’t  gotten anything crafty done today… well that’s a lie I made an ear and started an arm for the Cuddly Kitty for my craft partner. I have been working on my room. It’s like a hurricane hit and I need to go buy more suitcases. I can have 2 more. So I’m getting set to move out. I leave from DC in 9 days. Then I’ll get to Reno on the 30 where my boyfriend and his friends will pick me up and we’ll head to Quincy, CA. I can’t wait. I’m so super excited, and nervous. It’s a big step for me. I can’t wait. So there is shopping in my future. Also on the list is comfy shorts and well there was something else.. I’m sure I’ll remember later. I also need to remember to buy food for the trip I’ll be on a train from the 27-30 so that’s what? 2-3 breakfasts, 3 lunchs,and 2 dinners. To buy anything from the diner is very expensive. The cheapest dinner tends to be around $10+ and that’s just the entree >.< then the snack car is pricey as well just not as much so I need some no perishables to bring with me. Then the crafts, oh how I need the crafts and a variety in case I get bored but not too much so I don’t lose any of it. So much to do I think I shall get back to it.

Okay, I know this post is super early for me, but I finally gave into the fact that “Jane” is screening her calls and isn’t going to turn the internet back on for us. It’s super annoying and really pisses me off! I always tried to get along nicely and work with her and this is how she acts? So I called her and told her to come pick up her bill. If she doesn’t that’s not my fault I have no idea where she is living now and all I have is her cell number. Grr. I’m sitting in the commons now, I was going to spend my day cleaning my room and listening to music, but I can’t connect to even my neighbor’s wireless right now and since I had to check my email I had to come down here. Decided to post since I was here anyway.

So I finished one of the four kitties I need to do I feel bad since my swap partner who’s getting one finished her stuffs already and I’m still working. Anyway I shall leave you with a picture of the adorableness

I was going to have this post written up and early but “Jane” still hasn’t called me back and so it took forever to get the page to load. >.<

I got this package from my parents today and it was huge. I knew they were sending me my meds, but it only needed a padded envelope. There was yarn… so so much yarn. My parents really know how to surprise me. Look at it:

There’s this pink fluffy yarn that my friend says should be knit into a Kirby plushie, which I think I just may do, but there’s more than enough to get something else out of it.

Then there’s this mystery yarn. It’s worsted weight and what feels like it may be acrylic. I’m going to do the tests in Yarn Harlot’s Knitting Rules! to find out, plus I get to play with fire which is alway a bonus. ^-^

Then there’s this yarn which I really like, but there’s not much of it. They each consist of two novely yarns wound together.

Close up of the strands. It has the same poofy yarn thing, which is blue and grey and one is paired with gold stretchy yarn the other with it in green.

Then there is this yarn. It feels a lot like microspun. I says it’s 100 gr and +/- 5 gr. Not sure what that means though. 100 gr I’m assuming is grams. But why the +/-5 gr? I think it may have meant… no idea really. Anyone know? Oh, and don’t mind my foot.
The last section of yarn is the pryamid of yarn in the first picture. Don’t have a nice one with it seperated from the rest. The yarn is Colorado Yarn Knitaly. 100% virgin wool, 215 yds and 100 g worsted weight. The label claims that it is washable and even mothproof! O_o Not sure I can trust that though. I have 1 skein of grey, 1 of a really pretty maroon color. 2 of each of the following: lavender, purple, a dark grey, and a green with brown.

Also corrections on the kitty ears are now hightlighted in red on the pattern.

Sorry this’ll have to be quick, I still don’t have internet, here’s a list:

1. I just found out that “Jane” thinks I owe her $500 for not putting in a security deposit… my ass! I have a witness to state I put in the full deposit.

2. The new pattern for the ears will be up tomorrow, hopefully.

Hello all. I am writing you today through my neighbor’s wireless signal! Thank you neighbor people for not encrypting your signal. My roommate we’ll call her Jane, the one who ruined my shawl, the one we love oh so dearly… well she transfered the wireless to her new place instead of making a new account so they shut it off here. >.< I called her and she didn’t pick up so I left a message. She’s been screwing me and my other roommate out of money and it’s been a horrible experience living with her. On top of the fact that this place is a shit hole. I’ll stop my rant here.

I went shopping again today looking for shorts I really need and found my comfy pants on clearance and seeing as how they’re getting rid of them I bought another pair, along with a new hairbrush since mine broke (5 brush I’ve gone through this year), medicine. I didn’t find my shorts, or a good swim suit, I never find a good one though, or I do and they don’t fit or are way too expensive.

Craft wise I’m still looking around for plushie info. I’m almost done with a swatch for socks. It’s in Loin Brand Magic Strip. It’s superwash wool, I’m nervous about washing it anyway, I heard it can really do some funny things. Anyone ever work with it and run it through the wash? How’d it go? Also when I was knitting the socks, before I realized a swatch would be a good idea I was having a lot of issues. I’m doing one on 2 circulars and I keep getting a ladder on one side where the needles switch. Never on both sides but on either one side or the other (I ripped a few times). I’m not sure why I’m having so many issues though. I’ve worked with 2 circulars a number of times and haven’t had these issues and I don’t with DPNs either. Any suggestions there?

Also I was reading over my pattern. The ears end up too small, don’t know what I was doing when I wrote the pattern for the ears. When I have the corrected version I’ll post that there in a different color. Sorry about that.
