Didn’t really get anything done again today, I’m such a slacker xD. Just been unknitting Kiri TT I’ve gotten a lot of requests to post a pattern for the kitty, but I’m not sure how much I’d be allowed to post since it’s a modified pattern. I’ll have it up Monday though when I figure out all I did. ^-^

Today I got absolutely no knitting done, but I did buy Loin Brand Magic Strip yarn. Two balls one in the blue colorway, the other the purple. I will learn to knit socks! I’ve been wanting to for a long time so I’m finally going to. ^-^ I spent today helping my friend clean his room. We aren’t nearly finished, but we did put a good dent in it. Not much to really talk about today. Umm I’m also going to work on some baby hats to send to support the Yarn Harlot’s friend Jeanne for breastfeeding awareness.

You know how some days you just shouldn’t knit? Today is one of them. I was working on Kiri when I noticed I was a stitch short. I looked down a row and saw a missing YO. I decided to unknit two rows and just start from there and when I got there I was missing 2 stitches. T.T I still don’t know where they went. I haven’t had the heart to pick it back up today, I’ll try to find it tomorrow.

But good news: I have pictures! I get them taken at the computer store my friend works at. They were taken with the built in cam on the new MacBook Pro. It’s freakin awesome I really want one now! So much better than my webcam. Any way to the pics:

I modified the Lovable Toys pattern from Last Minute Knitted Gifts using the bunny’s head. This is my third kitty knitted from this pattern. I love it, and this is my best yet. The ears are my favorite part, and they are poseable! The kitty is knitted with Microspun and the scarf is three strands of it held together and tied off at the ends ^-^ the eyes are cotton scraps.

Sorry I’m looking pissed off in the pic there were a lot of annoying customers in today. Put the comp, love it!

Okay no pics again today, I swear I’ll get them soon. Today I shall rant since I’m still not over what happened this morning. As you well know I’m working on Kiri in Rowan’s Kid Silk Haze. Okay two rants.

Rant 1: A Roommate and her Boyfriend

Well I already posted this one on Craftster, but damn it it irritated me so much. My RM and her BF saw me knitting in the commons and came to say hi and he said my shawl was a tablecloth which was irritating but whatever, what does he know right? But my RM is a knitter, well not really, but she knows the knit st seeing as how I taught her, but she doesn’t seem too interested (prefers her Knifty Knitter). But anyway she took my knitting from me with the stitches half down the needles already and didn’t secure them at all. I grabbed the needles and held them to make sure none fell, but she didn’t even ask and I had 165 sts on the damn thing. After they left I started knitting again but was a st short which was odd since I had the proper number when I started so I looked over my work a number of times to try and figure out where I went wrong… turns out she dropped a st off. >.<

Rant 2: Denise

I love my birch straights and my bamboo DPNs, circulars, I’m using Denise and I hate it so much. They were fine at first and make great needles to take on board airlines, but damn it! After the previous incident I was frusterated and didn’t want to work on it so I took the needles off and put on the stoppers and set it down. When I picked it up one of the stoppers wasn’t secured anymore and 5 sts had fallen off. >.< Thank god they didn’t unravel I’d have cried. The needles have also unsnapped on me while knitting, but this incident is the last straw. These will be purely for airline use and when I absolutely have no other choice. I’ve heard great things about KnitPicks Options Needle Line, so I’m going to invest in those when I have the money!

I really need a good digital camera *turns to the nonexistant audience* Any suggestions? I don’t have pics for you today. But I did finish my kitty on Saturday ^_^. He’s my best yet, I’ll give you the specs with the pic. I love him and he’ll be on his way to my boyfriend. The weekend was long. Saturday was my knitting day, I was alone for most of it. Sunday I was on the phone with Matthew most of the day, which was really nice, instead of cleaning Andy’s room. Today I knit on Kiri some more. It’s really coming along nicely I’m on the sixth repeat. The pattern says there will be 12 repeats for 3 balls of KSH, but I’m only using 2, so I’m not sure how many repeats to do, I’m not near done with the first ball of yarn though.

I got an early start today, at 8 ish this morning. I really need to not knit when sleepy.

I finished the main part of my instant gratification project.

It still needs ears, a tail, and well a face. ^^;;; So I was slow. I actually would have finished if I had the fluff to fill him with with me, but I was out and my fluff was on my floor. T_T I'll post the finished kitty, did I mention it would be a kitty, on Monday.

I also worked on Kiri. I really need to be awake to knit on this. I made so so many stupid mistakes, more than normal today since I was tired, I didn't even really notice til I got to the end of a row, but anyway here's my progress.

I'm in love with it, it's gonna be a gift, but I want to keep it so badly, I'll have to knit one up for myself.

Sorry no pics again. I decided to go for an instant gratification project today, which should have gotten finished but didn't. I went to the student commons like normal this morning to knit, I was there for 3 1/2 hrs and I was interrupted so much in that small space of time. First I was interviewed for Style Weekly, thank god I had the knitting with me. I was so freakin nervous when they stuck the tape recorder next to me. They were doing a survey thing about college life and taking pictures. They wanted to know about good hang outs and stuff around here and all I could think of was the LYS's I really don't get out much at all. The only other place I really go to is Barnes and Noble. It was nerve racking, but the knitting kept me calm… at least in appearances. Then I got back to knitting and this girl and her MIL walk over and ask me about my knitting, so I was happy about talking about something I know about. Then they give me a flyer, it was to one of the school's Christian groups. Don't get me wrong, to each his own, but the preaching gets annoying but she seemed nice so we chatted and I told her about the places I grew up and she asked what I wanted to do, I'm knitting the whole time, and tell her about the yarn shop I want to open. Then she tells me about her friend that's a knitter and how she'd probably like to meet me. When they leave it's 1230 so I keep working, when 1300 rolls around I call my bf to wake him up 1000 his time then I pack up. Right when I stand up the girl walks over with her friend and being nice I stop and chat, the knitting convo is short and they start talking about how they came to Christ and about how God wants to be our friend. They hand me another flyer that seriously looked like something I used to give 1st-3rd graders >.< It even had the definitions oh repentance, blessing, and beliefing on it in stupid people terms. It got annoying REAL fast. They keep talking about how there's a wall between us and God and how Christ is the bridge, they seriously went on for 1/2 an hour repeating the same stuff. When I finally got out I saw and old friend and said hi, then Matthew called asking where I was since I was going to meet him online. >.< After I finally left I achieved less than planned and went home to chat with him. He had to go as my friend was getting off work so we went to dinner and shopping, but it was too freakin hot by then for me to knit comfortably even in the car, and by the time it was it was too dark. My project is with Microspun. I have a love hate relationship with that yarn. It's hard to work with with my sharp needles, but I love how it feels. But up tomorrow I will finish my project and post a pic and one of my progress on Kiri as well.

Didn't make much progress today, though I did discover that once again reading a chart while distracted does not work, I have to unknit the two whole rows I worked today due to a missed yo in the first one… sooo stupid. I spent most of today out with my friend getting estamites for fiing his car. I did stop by Got Yarn where I was once again attacked with the immense urge to knit socks when I hit the corner filled with sock yarn. I just really want to knit socks lately, not sure why, but I do. I wish I had the money to buy the yarn… I want to knit them soooo badly. I keep getting caught up in the thought of finally having socks that fit and them being so comfy I never want to take them off. Someday I'll start the socks. Can't wait to move and get a job.

Completely forgot to post yesterday… and don't have pics to show my progress over the weekend and today, but I got quite a bit knitted up on Kiri, it's moving along really quick, even though I keep messing up. ^^;;; I'm on the third round of repeats for chart 2. I'm really happy with my progress on it. I also almost have the pattern committed to memory so I'm a bit proud of myself there. The shirt I've been working on I've put a lot more thought into and it'll be great once I get everything I need, when I have my swatched knitted I'll post a pic. I'm hoping to get a job soon so I can actually afford my yarn habit. Well live… seeing as how I'll basically be on my own. 

Nothing new to report, I spent all day today making "spell packs" with my friend for his LARP. I did decide not to bother with the deadline, I want to spend good time designing this top and write out a good pattern. So I'm happy and not stressed out anymore. So major knitting progress this weekend on Kiri and other WIPs since I have nothing planned, no where to go, and no friends in town. ^.^ I have also decided to collect Ramune bottles, and make something with them eventually.

One thing I need to do is figure out how to ship my sewing machine to CA from VA, any ideas from anyone who happens to read this? I'm really short on cash. ^^;;; It may be cheaper to buy a new one when I get there?
